One fateful day in 1982, after being stuck in bed with a cold, famed author Erica Spindler became a writer. To pass the time away, Ms. Spindler read romance novels. These novels are what inspired her to become a writer. Before making this decision, Erica was going to be an artist.
Spindler has the gift of writing mind-gripping plots and creating undeniably real characters. This talent has developed a multitude of fans around the world. Erica’s books are published in 25 different countries. She has written and published 27 novels. Erica’s style of writing is suspenseful, thrilling, and is the "keep you on the edge of your seat" kind of writing. She has the knack and the ability to take any harmless story and twist it into something pretty frightening. Spindler’s novel “Red” was an extremely popular novel and was even turned into a daytime series in Japan. In 1999, the audio versions of her books were awarded the “Listen Up” award for best audio mystery. Later in 2002, she won the esteemed Daphne du Maurier award for excellence and a Kiss of Death award for two of her novels. She too was a three time Rita Award finalist.
On a more personal note, Erica, along with her husband and two sons, resides in New Orleans. Just as it was with her writing career, her move to New Orleans was fate as well. She and her husband went there to see a museum exhibit and to do some sightseeing. The couple fell in love with the city and decided to move there.
